A man accused in a Christmas Eve shooting that left his brother-in-law paralyzed is behind bars after being arrested in Progreso.

San Juan police confirmed that Arnulfo Silguero is in custody after being arrested on Wednesday afternoon.

Silguero is accused of shooting his brother-in-law during a domestic disturbance at a home off El Sauz and Sgt. Trevino Roads in San Juan on Christmas Eve.

The shooting left his brother-in-law hospitalized and paralyzed.

Silguero spent almost 10 days on the run but did not flee to Mexico because he is wanted for murder south of the border.

San Juan police confirmed Silguero was arrested this afternoon on the American side of the American side of the border off JR Beccera Street in Progreso.
