Traffic has slowed down on the South Padre Island highway following a head-on collision that involved three vehicles.

It all happened on Highway 100 in Laguna Heights around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The accident involved a head-on collision between two pickup trucks with the impact involving a third vehicle.

Rescuers are at the scene trying to extract the driver from one of the pickup trucks.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
