Suspect fires gun during San Juan convenience store robbery

Authorities are searching for a man who fired a gun during a weekend convenience store robbery in San Juan.

It all happened at a convenience store off Nebraska Avenue and Railroad Street late Friday night.

San Juan police told Action 4 News that  man walked into the store with black shoe polish on his face.

Surveillance cameras recorded the man buying meat and leaving the store.

Investigators said the clerk was counting money when the man returned to buy beer.

Cameras recorded the man pulling out a gun, firing it and making off with $1,400 bucks in cash.

A manager chased the suspect but returned to the store after being threatened at gunpoint.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call San Juan Crime Stoppers at (956) 283-TIPS.
