Edinburg barn goes up in flames, bales of hay consumed by fire

A barn loaded with over 1,000 bales of hay went up in flames early Saturday morning.

Edinburg fire fighters responded to the barn on FM 490.

The fire consumed150 bales, but the fire fighters were able to save most of the hay.

Edinburg Fire Chief Shawn Snyder told Action 4 News that someone lived inside the bar.

He said that they were not home at the time.

Investigators believe an electrical short caused the fire.
