Car strikes palm tree, toddler taken to hospital

A 2-year-old was transported to the hospital after he and his mother were involved in a car crash.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The two were traveling on University Boulevard when their car struck a palm tree.

The mother sustained minimal injuries but the child had to be taken by ambulance to a Harlingen hospital.

His condition remains unknown at this time.
