Suspect wanted for 2008 deadly hit and run caught in Reynosa

An Edinburg man was arrested on Friday in connection to a deadly hit and run from four years ago.

Alejandro Salinas was wanted for hitting three people with a Chevrolet Suburban on August 6, 2008.

He was traveling southbound on Mon Mack Road near FM 1925 when he struck the pedestrians.

One of the victims died at the scene and the other two victims sustained serious injuries which left them incapacitated.

Salinas fled the scene of the accident and went to Mexico.

U.S. Marshals Service investigators and Texas DPS Fugitive Task Force received information on Friday that Salinas was living in Reynosa.

He was arrested and turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The 28-year-old was wanted on a warrant of Accident Involving Death and two warrants of Accident Involving Injury. He was taken to the Hidalgo County Jail.
