The claws came out at the final political forum put on by Action 4 News, KURV Radio, and The Rio Grande Guardian at the Weslaco Business and Visitor's center on Thursday night.

Job creation, education, and even vouchers were issues that all candidates kept pushing during debates.

State Representative District 41 candidate Miriam Martinez even tried revisiting the issue of drugs to combat Incumbent Bobby Guerra.

The audience listened intently during these fiery debates, which also included State Representative District 39 candidates Incumbent Armando Martinez and Joel De Los Santos.

Those who attended the forum say knowing the positions of our state representatives will help valley residents to decide who will best represent the districts in Austin.

"The word representative means that they represent us,” said forum attendee Daniel De Los Santos. “So we want to send the right persons to represent us at the state level."

All candidates expressed their gratitude to the media outlets for hosting the event, and encourage voters to let their voice be heard on election day.

This was the final political forum before the general election.
