Early voting in progress, Action 4 News to host political debates

Monday marked the first day of early voting and record number number of voters have headed to the polls in the Rio Grande Valley.

Action 4 News is teaming up with 710 KURV and the Rio Grande Guardian to host two LIVE and televised political debates.

With the voting registration deadline already long gone, it’s now time for voters to hit the polls.

Televised Debates

The candidates for U.S. Representative District 15 and for U.S. Representative District 34 will face off on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Weslaco ISD Performing Arts Center.

The debate for the candidates of State Representative District 39 and State Representative District 41 will be held on Thursday from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Weslaco Business-Visitors & Event Center.

Both debates are open to the public, but seating is first come, first served. The doors will open at 4 p.m.

Voter Information

According to AACT Now, only two in every 10 Valley voters cast their ballots in the last election

Willacy County Voting Site: Reber Memorial Library/Meadows Annex 1921 North 2nd Street in Raymondville.

Important Dates To Remember:

• Monday, October 22nd - First Day of Early Voting
• Tuesday, October 30th - Last Day to Request Ballot By Mail
• Friday, November 2nd - Last Day of Early Voting
• Tuesday, November 6th - Election Day

• Tuesday October 23rd – U.S. Rep. District 15 and U.S. Rep. District 34
• Thursday, October 27th – State Rep. District 39 and State Rep. District 41
