Although computers are a lot cheaper than they used to be, they're still not giving them away.

But you know what? That day is getting a lot closer.

Because now you can buy a computer for only $35.

This is the Raspberry Pi. While it may look like nothing more than a small circuit board, it's a fully functional computer. Add a keyboard and mouse, use a TV as a monitor, and you're ready to rock.

For a hard drive, the raspberry uses those little SD cards, the same ones you use in your camera. Very clever. But does this thing really work like a real computer? I asked our in-house technology expert for his opinion.

The raspberry does have some drawbacks. For example, it doesn't run Windows or a Mac operating system, which means it won't run many popular programs. So a laptop replacement? Maybe not. But a great way to introduce your young Bill Gates into the world of computers.

We can show you where to find this, as well as other great ideas for the holidays. Just go to MoneyTalksNews.com and do a search for "holiday shopping."
