Dressed in black from head to toe, Onan Sanchez-Herrera opted to give his back to the cameras in the courtroom this afternoon.

Herrera admitted to being here illegally, the Honduran native did not want the Honduran consulate to know he was arrested.

Edinburg Judge Terry Palacio set Sanchez bond at 500,000 dollars.

UTPA spokeswoman Sandra Quintanilla tells Action 4 News Onan Sanchez-Herrera turned himself in Saturday at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.

Two other men, 20 year old Milton Trevino and 35 year old Miguel Navarro have been charged with kidnapping in connection to this case.

According to police, the trio allegedly forced a UTPA student into their vehicle on September 25, 2012, while she was getting into her vehicle, parked in a north parking lot on campus.

Authorities say the girl was held against her will for a few days.  She escaped and immediately went to the police.

The victim claims the men wanted money and planned on calling her family to get what they wanted.  She is now home safely with her family.

The three men are now in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail.
