Both the victim and the suspects are behind bars following a drive-by shooting in a rural area near Brownsville's airport.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies were called out to Tapachula Street in east area early Monday morning.

Sheriff Omar Lucio told Action 4 News that the victim got into an argument with a man named Mauro Alanis.

Suspects Cristobal De La Cruz, Rudy Orlando Hinojosa and Alberto Perez left but returned in a car and opened fire on the victim's home.

Sheriff Lucio said the victim and the suspects exchanged gunfire for a short while but no injuries were reported.

The three suspects were arrested for deadly conduct and public intoxication.

Jail records show that Alaniz was charged with deadly conduct and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
