3-year-old dies after being hit by car in church parking lot

A 3-year-old is dead after someone back over her in a Mission church parking lot.

The incident happened at noon on Saturday at the church, La Luz del Mundo.

Police said a woman was backing out of a parking space when the toddler ran behind her vehicle.

The child was rushed to the hospital but died a short time later.

She has been identified as Hellen Chavez.

There is no word if charges will be filed.
