Harlingen homeowner shoots burglary suspect BB gun

Authorities are still trying to sort out the details of an incident where a homeowner used a BB gun to shoot a man trying to breaking into his home.

It all happened at about at home near West Buchanan Street and South A Street around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Harlingen police said a 28-year-old man tried to break into a home through the window.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the homeowner confronted the man, chased him and shot him with a BB gun.

The alleged suspect declined medical treatment.

No charges have been filed at this time but the incident remains under investigation.
