A San Benito man is behind bars after he allegedly kidnapped and raped his girlfriend early Sunday morning.

San Benito police arrested 42-year-old Jorge A. Coello on multiple criminal charges.

Investigators told Action 4 News at that it all started with a disturbance at the Super 8 Motel off Expressway 77/83 around 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

A woman told police officers that Coello had taken her 39-year-old friend by force inside a green Ford Ranger pickup truck.

The 39-year-old woman’s ex-husband told police that he got a call from her around 5:40 a.m. Sunday saying she was at a mobile home park off Combes Street.

Police arrived at the mobile home park where they found both Coello and the woman.

The woman told police that she had been beaten and raped. She escaped but Coello allegedly dragged her back in and did it again.

Police officers charged Coello with kidnapping, sexual assault, unlawful restraint and continuous violence against family.

Coello appeared before San Benito Municipal Judge Ben Yudesis who issued $350,000 dollars in bonds.
