A La Feria man is behind bars after he lead authorities on a Wednesday morning chase in his grandmother's car.

Investigators told Action 4 News it all started off Washington Way around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities were trying to serve a warrant on a Elton Steve Cox, Jr. who was wanted for aggravated assault of a peace officer.

The 26-year-old man allegedly took off in his grandmother's car leading police on a chase down Kansas City Road, Parker Road, Business 83, Expressway 83 and Beddoes Road.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputy, deputy constables and La Feria police all participated in the chase.

Investigators said Cox came back home where police tackled him in the garage.

Deputies took Cox to the Cameron County Jail where he is expected to appear before a judge on Thursday.
