A 21-year-old man is behind bars following an early Monday morning stabbing in a northside neighborhood.
McAllen police have arrested 21-year-old Eduardo Vela II on an aggravated assault charge.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Vela is accused of stabbing a man on the 1900 block of West Lark Avenue in the Shadowbrook subdivision.
The victim made it to his house off West Eagle Avenue where family members called paramedics.
A motive for the stabbing was not clear but police reported that it happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
The stabbing victim had bruises from a beating, cuts and punctures but is in stable condition and expected to recover.
Vela appeared before a McAllen municipal court judge on Monday morning where he was issued a $30,000 dollar bond.
