Two Hidalgo County Sheriff's Deputies are currently in the hospital recovering from an overnight accident.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office says a man driving a Jeep at high speeds down Mile 6 West, wrecked into the Sheriff's vehicle, causing them to slam into the side of a local business in Weslaco.

Two deputies were in the vehicle at the time and they were both transported to local hospitals for treatment.

The officers are not facing life threatening injuries.

The man who hit the officers was apparently drunk at the time of the incident.

He was transported to Knapp Medical Center where Weslaco P.D. will arrest him following his release.

No word yet on charges he will face.
