The national spotlight is now on Edinburg-born singer Bobby Pulido.

The Tejano musician is among 10 contestants in the dancing game show "Mira Quien Baila."

Now in it's third season, the Spanish-language program debuted last night and will air Sunday evenings on the Univision network. 

Like "Dancing With The Stars," the show pairs a celebrity with a professional dancer.

Ten pairs of dancers perform in a variety of musical and dance styles with a pairs being eliminated throughout the season.

Pulido is competing with nine other celebrities:

• Samy
• Alicia Machado
• Henry Santos
• Argelia Atilano
• Valentina
• Maripily Rivera
• Maxi Iglesias
• Fernando Arau
• Maria Antonieta de las Nievas

Each contestant is competing to win $150,000 dollars for a charity.

Pulido is competing to win the prize for the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children’s Cancer and Hematology Clinic in McAllen.

The Edinburg-born singer is son of Tejano legend Roberto Puldio.

Bobby Pulido's hits include "Desvelado," "Vanidosa," "Ojale Que Te Animes" and "Montame."

Action 4 News spoke with Victoria Martinez with Vannie E. Cook in McAllen.

She said Pulido has been involved with fundraisers for their clinic over the past three years.

"We were in the middle of a radiothon fundraiser and he heard us on the radio," Martinez recalled. "He came in own his own and offered to help."

Pulido has helped the Rio Grande Valley-based charity ever since.

"We're honored that he chose us out of all the other charities he could have chosen," Martinez said.

How To Vote

Eliminations on the show do not begin for another two weeks but fans will be allowed to vote to keep contestants on the show.

According to Univision, there are three ways to vote for contestants on Mira Quien Baila:

• Toll-free number offered during the show
• Text message options offered during the show
• Univision.com's mobile website

There will be special votes held between now and when the elimination period starts.

Puldo but was not featured in a special vote during the debut episode on Sunday evening.
