The owner of Smart Kids Educational Day Care center on 1703 Boca Chica Boulevard admits she was shocked to learn that roaches and rat droppings were found during a recent health inspection.
Dora Williams tells the Food Patrol how pest control is part of her monthly maintenance and that the insect and rodent contamination were a first for the center.
The business, which scored 9 demerits, is ordered to clean and sanitize the cabinets, according to the report.
Williams says action has already been taken.
She also touts better inspection results over the last decade-plus in business.
“If there was something there, it was the first time, she said. “I’m hoping we don’t ever have that again because that’s not something I want in my facility.”
The day care center isn’t the only kitchen on the Food Patrol’s radar.
