Authorities are investigating the deaths of an elderly man and woman whose bodies were found at a home near an elementary school in Harlingen.
It all happened at a home at 714 Rangerville Road late Monday afternoon.
The home is just a couple block away from Milam Elementary School.
Harlingen police are at the scene where authorities sealed off the area to conduct an investigation.
Investigators told Action 4 News that they are treating the deaths of a 55-year-old man and 54-year-old woman as a homicide.
The cause of the two deaths was not immediately known at this time.
Property records show that 55-year-old Jose Elias Colmenares and 54-year-old Herlinda Trujillo bought the $33,000 dollar home back in 2010.
Driver's license records show that the couple's prior address was listed Brea Creast Street in Houston.
Family members told Action 4 News that the couple had moved from Houston to Harlingen.
Relatives said that Colmenares suffers from diabetes and was recently hospitalized where he was asked to undergo a psychiatric evaluation but he refused.
One relative said that Colmenares had also recently received some bad news that affected him.
Action 4 News will provide updates as they become available.
