A Brownsville mother and son are facing criminal charges after authorities discovered that they were selling marijuana from their Fronton area home.

Brownsville police arrested 50-year-old Virginia Ramos and her 19-year-old son Jesse Del Fierro on Thursday afternoon.

Investigators told Action 4 News that police received a tip that they were selling drugs from the home on the 400 block of East Fronton Street.

Agents with the Brownsville Police Department's Special Investigations Unit had the home under surveillance for a week and raided it on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities only found five ounces of marijuana but investigators said it was all in pre-packed in 13 baggies and 26 ready-to-go joints for street-level sales.

Police charged Ramos and Del Fierro with state jail felony possession of marijuana.

Bond information for Ramos and Del Fierro was not immediately available.
