The 11-month-old baby, who was found beaten in his home, died at Valley Baptist Medical Center on Friday evening.
He had been hospitalized for four days and listed in critical condition due to multiple bruises all over his body and scratches to the back of his head.
Paramedics and police were called to a home on the 1000 block of East Adams Street on Monday evening.
The baby boy’s mother, Barbara Bravo, is accused of slapping, kicking and throwing the baby to the ground.
The 21-year-old mother’s boyfriend, Jesus Gonzalez, is accused of knowing the abuse, but failing to report it.
The couple remains in custody on first-degree felony charges of injury to a child. Their bonds were set at $500,000.
