Court records reveal that an 11-month-old baby listed in critical condition was slammed to the ground, slapped and kicked by his own mother.

Paramedics and police were called to a home on the 1000 block of East Adams Street on Monday evening.

Court records reveal that an ambulance was called here after the baby boy went into a seizure.

Hospital officials revealed the boy had suffered a heart attack, was covered in bruises and had broken bones as well as other injuries.

The boy's mother Barbara Bravo told police that the boy got the injuries from toys, falling down and playing with his siblings but police didn't buy it.

An investigation revealed that Bravo recently threw the 11-month-old to the ground.

She's also accused of slapping the baby while she was trying to watch TV and even kicking him in the leg.

Bravo's boyfriend Jesus Gonzalez is accused of knowing the abuse happened but failing to report it.

Records show that the baby boy had endured weeks of physical abuse before being taken to the hospital.

During one incident in June, the baby had been beaten so bad that his eye was swollen shut.

Investigators say the baby boy remains in critical condition tonight at the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.

Both Bravo and Gonzalez remain behind bars under $500,000 dollar bonds.
