Authorities have now identified five people involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident involving several vehicles and that left a young man dead.

The deadly wreck claimed the life of 20-year-old Julio Cesar Lacayo early Sunday morning.

McAllen police suspect a pickup truck that hit Julio was racing another truck on U.S. Expressway 83 near South 23rd Street where it lost control.

Two other vehicles, a light colored pickup and a blue-green convertible, were also seen on the expressway at the time of the accident.

McAllen police told Action 4 News that detectives identified four of the people involved are adults and one is a juvenile.

Investigators said the four adults are facing criminal charges while police are consulting prosecutors about the juvenile.
