Brownsville police are searching for the man allegedly responsible for the Saturday morning car accident that killed two people.

Officers believe Pedro Solitaire was driving the Cadillac Escalade that slammed into a Poniac Grand Am.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. on Highway 48 by Price Road.

The 37-year-old’s car allegedly struck the Poniac from behind causing both cars to crashing into telephone posts.

Both cars went up in flames and two out of the four passengers in the Poniac died.

The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Cassandra Sierra and 20-year-old Rodolfo Ibanez.

Officers first thought that the crash was done on purpose, but now they believe it was an accident.

Solitiaire managed to escape from the Escalade and then fled the scene.

He has been identified as the new suspect in this case.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to call 956-546-TIPS.
