SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (AP) -- A family member says a 6-year-old boy has died after authorities say he was shot by his mother's boyfriend at a South Texas hotel.

Jaydin Thompson's great-aunt Dianne Cerny said Thursday that the boy died Wednesday evening at a San Antonio hospital where he had been on life support.

Jaydin's 21-month-old half-brother, Davian Bluntson, was fatally shot in the Tuesday incident at a Laredo hotel.

Demond Bluntson, the younger boy's father, has been charged with capital murder in the shootings.

Police are investigating if the 36-year-old man also was involved in the fatal shooting of the boys' mother, Brandy Cerny, 200 miles away in their hometown of El Campo.
