Authorities are investigating a shooting that left two people wounded and one dead outside a gas station in a rural area of Edinburg.

It all happened at the Flying J's Gas Station off U.S. Highway 281 and Monte Cristo Road on Wednesday evening.

Witnesses reported that a black SUV drove up and opened fire.

Paramedics are rushing two shooting victims to the hospital.

According to police radio communications, a black Chevrolet Tahoe with three armed men fled the scene.
