Authorities investigate shooting near Sharyland High School

Victim now facing money laundering charges

Authorities are searching a home that was the target of an overnight shooting near Sharyland High School.

It all happened at a home off School Lane in Mission just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Mission police told Action 4 News that several shots were fired but nobody was injured.

A motive for the shooting is not clear but authorities obtained a search warrant to go inside the home.

Investigators told Action 4 News that they found $51,000 dollars in cash inside.

Police arrested the victim on a money laundering charge.

Investigators are not releasing his name but said he is in the United States illegallly and a former member Tamaulipas judicial police officer.
