The Brownsville Publics Utilities Board (BPUB) announced that there has been a temporary interruption of odor control at one of their wastewater plants and stations throughout the city.

The odor control measures have been stalled at the South Wastewater Treatment Plant and nine lift stations.

The interruption began June 5 and is expected to last for three more weeks.

BPUB is studying and evaluating the performance of the odor control chemicals at the wastewater facilities.

Customers will not experience interruptions of any other utility services during the three-week period.

BPUB has apologized for the inconveniences from this study.

Anyone who would like more information on this can call (956) 983-6300.
