An armored car company employee is behind bars after being accused of looting an ATM machine near La Plaza Mall in McAllen.

It all happened at the Inter National Bank off South 10th Street and Exprssway 83 around 7 a.m. Sunday.

McAllen police told Action 4 News that officers arrived and found the ATM machine pried open with the money missing.

Investigators allegedly linked Rochester Armored Car Company employee Omar Pando Morales to the crime.

A motive is not clear but police believe that the Palmhurst man may have used his access code to get inside the ATM machine.

Morales is expected to be arraigned either Friday or Saturday.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
