Authorities are investigating a drive by shooting that left an alleged gang member dead in the 'Little Mexico' area south of Alamo.

It all happened at a home on the 300 block of Rancho Blanco Road around 9:45 p.m. Monday.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies told Action 4 News that a Ford Ranger pickup truck was seen driving by the house.

The occupants of the truck allegedly pulled out guns and opened fire on the home shooting two people.

Family members took the injured people to a local hospital where 29-year-old Estevan Rangel died.

Investigators said Rangel was a member of the Tri-City Bombers gang.

Deputies found two different bullet casings at the scene leading them to believe two different guns were used in teh crime.

Authorities have identified a person a interest who they believe may have been inside the Ford Ranger pickup truck.

Rangel's mother Maria Maldonado told Action 4 News she was inside of her home watching television when shots rang out.

 When they stopped she ran outside to see if anyone was hit—that is when she found her son, Estevan on the ground.

"He didn't say anything to me,” She cried. “He was just lying there."

Hidalgo County Sheriff Investigators told Action 4 News they believe the shooting was gang related.

They said that Estevan is a member of the Texas Chicano Brotherhood gang.

“I just want authorities to do something about this-----I just want them to do something,” Maria said through tears.

Investigators told Action News another victim shot during the drive by is in critical, but stable condition.
