The numbers are in and it looks like Hidalgo and Cameron County voters had a strong turnout in early voting this year.

Hidalgo County saw 43,783 voters hit the poles and 16,784 voters in Cameron County.

But, will this carry over into election day?

Or will residents decide to opt out of casting their ballot?

This morning on Sunrise, Eliza Alvarado with the Advocacy Alliance Center of Texas was with us to share more details.

"We hope people really continue to be motivated," said Alvarado. "That  they understand the importance of coming out to vote today."
