Child rape suspect Alberto Matamoros III got a $100,000 dollar bond

A child sex suspect is behind bars in San Benito after spending several days on the run.

San Benito police reported that officers have taken 26-year-old Alberto Matamoros III into custody.

Matamoros is accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Investigators alleged that Matamoros raped a 3-year-old girl.

Matamoros appeared before a San Benito municipal judge on Wednesday morning where he was issued a $100,000 dollar bond..

The San Benito man has a criminal history going back to when he was 18 years old on charges ranging from drugs to deadly conduct and DWI.
