Less than a quarter of a mile away, Maria Dominguez sits outside of her home just north of Mission and clutches a picture of her son Teodoso.

He was killed on Saturday after he allegedly flipped the Ford Expedition he was test driving for his mother.

"He was a child with a lot of knowledge and he had the maturity of an adult," Dominguez said.

Dominguez told Action 4 news that ‘Teo’ was just going down the road. She never thought he would not make it back.

He was her only son and then one that helped Dominguez care for her other children, especially the youngest who is disabled and needs the most attention.

"I didn't have money to take my child to therapy, but he helped with that,” Dominguez said. “He helped me take care of her."

Now Dominguez wonders how the family will survive.  They have no money.

Dominguez said she relied on ‘Teo’ to help the family financially.

"I don't know what I'm going to do," she said.

The La Joya Independent School District set up an account for the Dominguez family at the La Joya Federal Credit Union.

The Dominguez family also set up an account at IBC bank.

DPS troopers continue to investigate the cause of this crash.
