Two men have been arrested for allegedly shooting a man in Mercedes Saturday morning, but Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for one more suspect who is considered to be “Armed and Dangerous”.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said the shooting is drug related.

The victim had been beaten and tortured at a nearby house before he was shot in the upper torso and dropped off at 2 Mile West and 13 Mile North.

The victim was presumed to be dead, so the suspects left his body out on the road and drove away.

As soon as they left, the victim went to a neighboring home and asked the home owner for help.

The neighbor took him to the emergency room.

Two men were arrested a half mile away from the crime scene later that morning.

Authorities arrested the suspects found in a truck parked partially in a ditch. They noticed blood inside the vehicle.

The victim is in stable condition at a nearby hospital.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño  said the shooting was drug related.

The person authorities are looking for is Jaime Roque. He is 40-years-old and could be driving a black corvette.

He lives in the area where the victim was left and he is carrying a .9 mm handgun.
