SWAT team called to east Edinburg home during drug raid

Authorities sealed off a street in an east Edinburg neighborhood following a drug and weapon raid at a home there.

It all happened on Diana Drive near East Sprague Street around 5 p.m. Friday.

Edinburg police spoke to Action 4 News about the incident.

Investigators said that the SWAT was called to a home on the 800 block of Diana Drive to search for crack cocaine and weapons.

Police had received information that cocaine was being sold from the home.

When authorities arrived, they found a neighborhood filled with kids and they had to clear the kids from the surrounding area before entering the home.

Five people are reportedly in custody.
