Once again Hidalgo County saw some damaging hail.

Just three weeks ago, a hail storm caused $200 million in damages to the McAllen area.

La Vista Park looked more like a driving range than a playground Friday evening as quarter to golf ball size hail bounced on the ground.

A couple of vehicles took shelter underneath the entryway of the Walgreens on 10th Street and Dove Avenue.

"As soon as the storm got really intense you could see people scrambling for bank drive,” McAllen Emergency Management Coordinator Kevin Pagan said.

Luckily this hail storm only lasted about 15 minutes but it was long enough to still do some damage.

The hail not only put dent's in Bruce Bradshaw’s Mercedes, it shattered the back window.

"There is no way to prepare for this that you can really do,” Bradshaw said. “I thought it would be another ten years before we got this."

Bradshaw's neighbor David Drews was also caught in the storm.

Three weeks ago Drews’ car was badly dented with baseball sized hail, this time it received two long cracks in the windshield.

"It probably did more damage today than with this smaller storm than it did three weeks ago," Drews said.

Drews has had his fair share of bad luck.  He's been living at a hotel for three weeks as he waits for insurance money to fix his roof.

"Needless to say I was a little concerned about the storm we had today,” Drews said.

Luckily today his house did not see new damage.

The city has not reported any widespread damage.
