Hidalgo County man kidnapped by men in 'paramilitary' uniforms

A Hidalgo County man is missing after three armed men stormed his home and kidnapped him at knifepoint.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies identified 40-year-old Armando Morfin as the victim.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Morfin was taken from his La Blanca home on Friday morning.

According to the victim's wife, the armed suspects spoke Spanish and were wearing paramilitary gear.

They taped her husband hands, eyes and mouth and hauled him out of the house.

Public records show that Morfin served eight years in prison for a second-degree felony marijuana case.

Anyone with information on Morfin's whereabouts is asked to contact the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office at (956) 668-8477.
