Three Brownsville men, ages 19, 35 and 39, are in custody for the Friday morning Harlingen kidnapping.

Harlingen police are still trying to determine the motive behind the aggravated kidnapping that began at the Mcdonald’s on Dixieland Road and Lincoln Road.

At 11 a.m., Police got the call for help from witnesses who reported seeing the three suspects allegedly force a Hispanic man in his 30’s or 40’s into his own Cadillac SUV.

A look out for the vehicle was put out and police were able to track down the SUV exiting Expressway 77 via the Santa Rosa/Rio Hondo exit.

The suspects took police on a chase that ended at an abandoned feed lot on FM 106 in Rio Hondo.

They bailed and left the victim behind.

"The victim was apparently strapped or handcuffed by zip ties inside the vehicle and he was beaten during the abduction,” said Harlingen PD spokesperson Dave Osborne. “A Harlingen police officer did an outstanding job with the cooperation of the citizens in the area to help us locate and save this victim "

K9's were called into the area to help search for the suspects who were found in the brush a short time after.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

He sustained scratches and bruises throughout his body.

All three men were arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping.
