Four men are behind bars following two drug busts in Weslaco where one man tried to throw the evidence inside another car.

The first drug bust happened off Mile 8 North and FM 1015 around 11 a.m. Thursday.

Weslaco police arrested Rolando Villarreal at the scene but suspect Cesareo E. Almaguer took off in a car.

Investigators said Almaguer tried to throw drugs inside the car of an innocent bystander.

Police arrested Almaguer and then recovered marijuana and $4,000 dollars in cash.

The second bust took place at a home at 1923 Las Brisas in Weslaco.

Police arrested 52-year-old Ramon Rodriguez and his 20-year-old son Ramon Rodriguez Jr.

Authorities found marijuana inside their home.

All four men appeared before a Weslaco municipal judge on Wednesday morning.

Villarreal got a $2,000 personal recognizance bond while Almaguer got $40,000 dollars in bonds.

Both Rodriguez and his son were issued $2,500 cash surety bonds.
