Two store clerks arrested in Harlingen undercover alcohol sting

A weekend sting operation ended with two convenience store clerks being arrested for selling alcohol to minors.

Harlingen police arrested 30-year-old Shaun Anthony Hoffpauir and 20-year-old Rebecca Renee Villafranca.

Investigators told Action 4 News that both of them are accused of selling tall boy beer cans to minors.

Police sent in undercover minors buy the beer on Saturday morning.

Hoffpauir allegedly sold a 24-ounce beer can to a minor at the Stripes convenience store near 7th and Commerce Streets.

Villafranca allegedly sold a 24-ounce beer can to a minor at a Stripes off Morgan Boulevard.

Both of them appeared before a Harlingen municipal judge where Hoffpauir was issued a $5,000 dollar bond.

Villafranca was issued a $1,700 dollar bond.
