A Hidalgo County murder suspect faced a judge on Wednesday afternoon where he received a $1 million dollar bond.
Jose Fernando Cervantes is accused of killing German Duque Gonzalez north of Palmview last week.
A passerby found Gonzalez's body under a pile of tires.
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies told Action 4 News that Gonzalez had been beaten in the head.
An investigation led deputies to Cervantes.
The murder suspect appeared before a judge at the Hidalgo County Jail early Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Cervantes is an illegal immigrant from Mexico.
The judge issued a $1 million dollar bond for Cervantes.
