Police put white powder over the spot where blood soaked a Mercedes yard on the 700 Block of Colorado in Mercedes.
It's where Mariana Sosa said a girl, about 6-years-old, saw her father get shot Wednesday afternoon.
"When she came by here, I asked her what happened, and she began to cry and cry," said Sosa.
Sosa and her husband said they share a yard with the victim's mother in law.
They said the victim, in his 20s, pulled into their driveway.
Before he even got out of his truck, Sosa said his brother-in-law walked up and shot him in the leg.
"Just one gun shot, and he took off," said Sosa.
Mercedes Police confirmed the suspect and victim do know eachother.
Police said they're not yet releasing the suspect's information, because they have not interviewed the victim.
The victim underwent surgery Wednesday.
He's said to be in stable condition.
Police said they expected to interview the victim by Thursday evening.
Sosa said she is scared after what happened.
She thinks the shooting is a result of an increasingly violent youth.
It's something she fears the young witness could become a part of.
