Authorities have ordered an autopsy to learn more about the death of a man whose body was found under a pile of tires north of Palmview.
The gruesome discovery was made off Marshall Street in a rural area near Mile 5 and Minnesota Road around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño spoke to Action 4 News about the incident.
Sheriff Treviño said a man was walking along the street when he spotted a pile of tires that hadn't been there before.
The man went for a closer look and found a body under the tires.
Deputies reported that the man's body had blood on the upper torso but it's not clear if he had been shot, stabbed or beaten.
Authorities have ordered an autopsy to learn more about the man's death and how his body ended up there.
