Cameron County Emergency Management said they have a person of interest in a large grass fire outside Rio Hondo Wednesday night.

The blaze is now under control after burning about 12 acres off Sam Houston and Fernando Road.

Two homes were reportedly evacuated, and several fire departments responded.

Authorities said they want to question this person of interest as to how the fire started.

No homes were said to be damaged in the blaze.
