Warrants of arrest for felony thefft have been issued for Cantu.
On July 30, 2011 at approximately 11 p.m. a Weslaco Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on an SUV pulling a utility trailer with tractor loaded on it.
The driver and occupants were questioned about the tractor and further investigation by the officers determined that the tractor had been stiolen from a business in a neighboring city.
As other officers arrived to assist and take the driver and three occupants into custody.
Two of them ran from the officers crossing expressway 83 on foot and were able to evade capture. One of those individuals was later identified as Amado Cantu.
Cantu is described as a twenty-six year old Hispanic male. He is approximately 5'7" wighs approximately 200 lbs, has brown hair and brown eyes.
