San Benito tire fire landowner arrested in Central Texas

A San Benito landowner at the center of an illegal dumping case involving a massive tire fire is out on bond after being arrested in Brownwood.

The Cameron County District Attorney's Office confirmed that Bob Waldrep was arrested in the Central Texas town on Friday.

Waldrep was wanted on a state jail felony illegal dumping charge as well as failure to appear and public nuisance warrants.

Brownwood police arrested Waldrep at a property he owns there.

Investigators said Waldrep is "know by police" in Brownwood as well.

The elderly landowner posted $20,000 dollars in bonds on Monday.
