Landing gear malfunction for private plane at McAllen airport

A private plane pilot and his passengers are safe after his landing gear malfuntioned at McAllen's Miller International Airport.

It all happened late Wednesday morning.

Investigators told Aciton 4 News that a Cessna aircraft from Mexico carrying four passengers crashed on the runaway.

Neither the pilot nor the passengers were injured.

Investigators said that the plane sustained damage due to landing gear malfunction.

Airport officials are advising travelers to expect flight delays or diversion to other Rio Grande Valley airports while authorities investigate and remove the plane from the runway.

Travelers with arrivals or departures at the McAllen aiport are being asked to call their airlines ahead of time.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
