Woman indicted for fatal DWI wreck in Donna

A Hidalgo County grand jury has indicted a woman accused of killing a 27-year-old man in a fatal DWI wreck in Donna.

Sylvia Ann Ramirez faces one count of manslaughter, two counts of injury to a child and three counts of injury to a person.

She’s accused of being intoxicated when she crashed into a jeep just five days before Christmas last year.

Orlando Gonzalez died in the wreck while five others were taken to the hospital.

Ramirez appeared before the Judge Ricardo Rodriguez, Jr. with the 92nd State District Court in Edinburg for her arraignment on Tuesday morning.

The Hidalgo County woman entered a plea of not guilty.

A trial date was not immediately available.
