Tire fire continues to spread south of San Benito

Authorities are still  evacuating homes after a tire fire spread south of San Benito Monday night.

It all started off Barlow Road around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The Cameron County Fire Marshall's Office is confirming that the fire was started from a set of tires.

The fire is believed to have consumed one house and is threatening others.

San Benito firefighters are at the scene where they are receiving assistance from the Brownsville Fire Department and other agencies.
